IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Pierson
Meier
January 20, 1966 – January 30, 2026
Robert Pierson Meier, also known as Bob, Bobby, Bobber, Grandbob, and the Soul Arborist, died peacefully January 30th, 2026. He was born on January 20th, 1966, in Irvington, New Jersey, to the late Robert Meier and Janet Shock.
Bob was a man of many talents. Those being a grief counselor, a writer, a poet, the Soul Arborist, and most importantly a loving father to his children Brittany, Bailey, Pierson, and Jackson and Grandbob to their offspring Blake, Charlie-Bobby, and Winry. He was the husband and self-described soulmate of Christy Meier, and the caring brother of his sister Lynn Misuraca.
The Soul Arborist spent his final years, as quote, "doing nothing, absolutely nothing, except everything he loved" on the island of Saint Simons. Bob found his passion on the island and devoted the last years of his life as a Soul Purpose Guide and grief counselor, helping others by guiding, serving, and healing his community along the way. His soul events included his Soul Circle group discussions at the pier, Drum Circles on East Beach, the Socrates Cafe at Spiral Wanderers, grief counseling sessions at the local middle and elementary schools, and Labyrinth Walks at Christ Church on Frederica Road. Bob also was an avid teacher of Mahjong and Qi Gong for his community and the people of Marshes Edge, where he enjoyed working as a receptionist.
His favorite pastimes were spent at the beach or beneath the trees journaling in his hammock, or at home with his biggest and most favorite accomplishment: his family.
We can only accept about his death what Bob knew as the truth and spoke about in his journals: that he became too large for his earthly shell, and at the time of his departure, the acorn of his soul grew into a beautiful oak tree. We know that Bob's presence is still very much here—not in his bodily form—but from the roots that grow beneath our feet to the wind that blows through the trees, his message is clear: even though you may not see me, I am here.
Bob's Celebration of Life will be held March 21st at the Saint Simons Island Pier and Casino from 10 AM to 2 PM. If you were touched by Bob's reach during his time here on earth, please join us for a few hours of remembrance and fun for our beloved Soul Arborist.
