Obituary

Family is a gift that lasts forever.

Roger Alan Davis, 83, of Brunswick, GA, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Roger was born on December 8, 1942, to Thorn and Adele Davis in West Virginia. Roger spent his younger life growing up in Akron, Ohio. He met and married Mary Lou Henry in 1964 and they began building a beautiful life together. Over the next 61 years, Roger took his family  on a wonderful journey through life, from Ohio, to Florida, and landing in Brunswick, Georgia. He retired from the International Chemical Workers Union and enjoyed his lifelong passion of playing with cars by opening Davis Auto Salvage. Many racecars, hotrods, and motorcycles made their way through his gates. Roger enjoyed Nascar, drag racing, hotrods, and riding his Harley. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, husband, father, Papa, and Old Papa to his family.

Roger leaves behind his children, Roger Davis (Lora Rushing), Jenny Coffey (Doug),  and Ali Davis (Ike Maulden), and daughter-in-law, Lyndi Davis; grandchildren, Brooke Thornton (Greg), Kyle Davis (Anethea), Taylor Coffey (Kristin), and Carleigh Pierce (Bo); she will also be missed by his great grandchildren, Adaleigh & Bristol Thornton, Rhett & Tatum Davis, Tate Coffey, and Margot Pierce. He also leaves behind his sister, Barbara Davis and her family, along with a big Ohio family that loved him dearly.

Roger will join his parents, Thorn and Adele Davis; his in-laws, Ted and Dorothy Henry; his beloved wife, Mary Lou Davis; his sister, Marlene Davis; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Henry and Sue Bair in Heaven.

A special thank you to Georgia Hospice Care and Britney Hanchey for always guiding the Davis family through the last few years.

"Family is a gift that lasts forever."
