Obituary

Ronald "Ronnie" Warren Jordan, 65, passed away at Hospice of the Golden Isles on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Ronnie was a local southern gentleman having been born in Brunswick on November 2, 1950 to loving and proud parents Tommie Jordan Wilson and A.W. Jordan, Sr. Ronnie grew up in Brunswick and called the beautiful south end of town on Richmond Street his stomping grounds. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served a four-year term where he enjoyed several overseas duties. He met his wife, Jackie Nelson Jordan, at Glynn Academy and the high school sweethearts married in 1974 and enjoyed 41 wonderful years together. Ronnie was employed by Georgia Power Company and as husband and wife they moved around the State of Georgia climbing the ladder with the company before settling back home where he worked at Plant McManus. They welcomed a beautiful daughter, Kelli Jordan, in 1979 and he became a super dad. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved boating, fishing and hunting. He and Kelli later took up scuba diving and it became their hobby, making many dives together. Ronnie retired from Georgia Power Company and following his father's footsteps opened his own business, Golden Isles Pest Control which he operated for several years until his death. Ronnie was a member of the Masonic Lodge and became the Worshipful Master of Ocean Lodge #214. He enjoyed and became great friends with many of his brothers in the Lodge and they were so supportive of him during his illness. His greatest accomplishment, according to him, was helping his daughter launch her business, Golden Isles Riding Academy. He worked tirelessly helping to build a barn and maintain the facilities. He was never one to ride a horse but his hand was the first one out when it came time to help her. He was so proud of her and his legacy will always be the future he helped to build for her. Ronnie is survived by his two sisters, Joan Jordan of Jacksonville, Florida and Tena Harris of Nashville, Tennessee. Both took their time to become his constant companions during his illness and supported his wife. His Step-Father, Wayne W. Wilson of Brunswick easily filled his deceased father's shoes and they enjoyed a true father and son relationship. Wayne was by his side to oversee many of the doctor appointments and offer his guidance and support during his illness. Ronnie is survived by several nieces and nephews who traveled from other states to be sure and visit him and show their love. Survivors include his wife, his daughter, his step-father and his two sisters along with brother-in-laws, Ben Nelson (Becky), Stephen Harris (Tena), nieces Brandi Harris Ezell and her son's Chase and Austin, Kristen Harris and her daughter Ryleigh, Josh Harris (Kari) and their son Dylan and daughter Jordan, Travis Nelson (Leslie) and their son Jack, Brandon Nelson (Miranda) and their son Ryland. Ronnie joins his brother, Adam W. Jordan, Jr. in heaven. Memorial services will be held at Brunswick Memorial Park in their chapel on Friday, January 1, 2016 at 5:00pm with a special Masonic Memorial and officiated by Pastor Jim McIlrath. Following Ronnie's wishes to keep it simple there will be no visitation prior to the funeral but those wishing to join us in fellowship are welcome to come early. He left his wife and family in the good hands of the Lord and he will continue to watch over us from his new home in heaven. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
