Ronald W. Peifer, 77, of Glynn County, Georgia, passed away at his home on January 10, 2026.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, in 1948, Ron was raised in Arkansas and St. Louis, Missouri. At the young age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving initially in Germany before deploying to Vietnam. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Diane. Ron continued his distinguished military career by joining the United States Coast Guard, where he served with honor aboard the USCGC Ingham, at Marine Safety Offices along the Mississippi River, and as an instructor at the Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown, Virginia. After retiring from the military, Ron and his family settled in Glynn County in 1988. He embarked on a second career at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) in Brunswick, where he worked in various roles for over 20 years.
Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed traveling across the United States alongside Diane, creating cherished memories and exploring new horizons.
Ron embodied a lifelong spirit of service, adventure, and devotion to family and friends. His strength, sense of humor, and love will be missed by many.
He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Diane Peifer; his two sons, Robert Peifer and his wife, Christina Peifer, and Michael Peifer; and his four grandchildren, Denise Peifer and Drake Peifer, both of Glynn County; Kristen Peifer Waymire of Virginia and her husband, Josh Waymire, and their two sons, Ron's great-grandchildren; and Zachary Peifer of Virginia; as well as many loved relatives in St. Louis and Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to a Parkinson's disease research organization or a veterans' support charity would be appreciated.
