Co-founder of Southern Gospel Music Promotion, Ruby Lee Whisenant McCall, 77, has gone to be with our Lord and Savior on October 12, 2010, after a long illness.Ruby was born in Union County, Mississippi on October 18, 1932 to Charles and Addie Whisenant. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Addie Whisenant; sister, Flora Bennett; brothers, Henry, Doyle and Burval Whisenant; daughter, Lynn; and grandson, Michael.Survivors include her husband, Joseph (J.E.) McCall; children, Dianne Rooks, Rhonda (Ray) Ellis, Ronnie (Amy) Hill, Ruth Breland, Norman Hill, Hazel Churchill, Wayne (Janie) Hill, Edward (Rose) McCall, and Teresa McCall; 28 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; one sister, Easel (Reid) Littlejohn; brothers, Charles (Lill) Whisenant, Wayne (Margie) Whisenant, Dee Dee and Redus Whisenant; and brother in Christ, Delmer McCall. A host of nieces and nephews and a mountain of friends also survive.
