Obituary

Russell Denver Williamson was gathered into his Savior's arms on Monday July 20th, 2026. Born February 06, 1944, he was 82 years old. On January 22, 1971, he married Delores Carter Williamson. Russell and Delores resided their entire marriage, in Brunswick, Ga. Russell proudly served his country during the Vietnam war, as a member of the US Navy. He had a great love for the Lord and was a member of Golden Isles Baptist Church.

Services will be held Friday, July 24th at 3:00 pm, with military honors, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home, with Pastor Travis Thrower officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00, with internment at Taylor Methodist Church, following the service.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Carter, Jonathan Kerr, Dylan Kinchen, Carter Smith, Dylan Turner, and Ernie White.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, the late Whewell Williamson and Mabel Burns Williamson, Dunwoodie Carter and Theresa George Carter, who always treated him as a son, Margaret Sellers, Whewelleen Fischer, David Carter, and Ernest Carter.

He is survived by his wife Delores Carter Williamson, sister Connie Williamson, Stacie Fischer, MD, Randall Fisher, Sylvia Pipkin Carter, Isham and Carol Casey Carter, Wayne and Joann Carter Melton, James and Margaret Carter Williamson, as well as numerous wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Golden Isles Baptist Church, in Russell's name.
