Ruth Ann Parham
June 14, 1949 - July 4, 2021
Ruth Ann Parham, 72, of Darien, Georgia, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away at the Southeast Georgia Health Systems on July 4, 2021. Ruth was born at Camp Kilmer-Middlesex, New Jersey, on June 14, 1949. She was the third child to the late Clemmie and Mary Lydia Solomon, Sr. Though life presented many challenges for her, Ruth was always optimistic and up to the task to meet and overcome them. She fully embraced life and was a firm believer with God's help anything is possible. So much so, she called herself 'Super Trooper' and she was in so many ways. After graduating from high school in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood area of New Jersey, Ruth lived and worked a number of years in Plainfield, New Jersey before taking on what she considered to be one of her most significant and valued roles in life, becoming a wife and mother. She later moved to Georgia and made it her home for over 20 years. Ruth loved spending time with her children, family gatherings, creating jewelry and other crafts, caring for her plants and flowers, listening to music, eating good food, having great conversations, watching various TV programs and movies, writing poems, taking car rides, shopping, collecting lighthouses, spoiling her loved and special chihuahuas-Joy and Angel, supporting her Coastal Empire Polio Survivors Association, and more. Ruth will be fondly remembered for so much including her warm and loving spirit and heart, courage, determination, compassion, wisdom, joy of life, and just overall goodness.
Ruth's legacy includes her two children, a son, Wakil Carter (his wife Gina), and a daughter, Keisha Smith. Ruth was also the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. And, Ruth had: three sisters, Ayesha Swann Brown, Sharon Solomon-Young (husband Jay) and Barbara Jean Bournes; two brothers, Clemmie Solomon, Jr. and Philip Solomon, Sr. (deceased); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Thank God for the gift and blessing of Ruth, the 'Super Trooper' and her touching and inspiring many lives so deeply. She set such a positive example for many to follow. Wish you were still here!
