Sallie Ickler Oxendine, 82, a resident of Brunswick and Pembroke, N.C. passed away November 5th at her residence in Pembroke after an extended illness. She was retired from the Glynn County School System and was a school teacher at Ballard Elementary for most of her teaching career. She was a graduate of the University of N.C. at Pembroke. She is survived by her husband, Bill Oxendine of Pembroke; 2 daughters, Gail (Jonathan) Miller of Brunswick, and Robyn (Guy A.) Cheek (DVM) of Brunswick; 1 sister, Luanna Davis of Roswell, Ga. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Brooke Worrell, Ashley Miller, Lindsey Cheek, Jona Miller, and Cory Cheek. Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Brunswick Memorial Park Mausoleum. Entombment to follow. Dr. Kevin M. Drury to officiate.
