IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Demaris
Crews
June 1, 1942 – December 8, 2022
Sandra Demaris Crews was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother during her 80 years of life. She was born to Doris Elizabeth Cook and Edward Jay Cook on June 1, 1942 in Brunswick, Georgia. She was the second born of four siblings. She entered Heaven's gates peacefully in the late hours of Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Edward, her sister, Armorel, her brother, Edward (Eddie), her daughter, Julie, her son, Joseph (Joey), and great grandson, Peyton. Survivors include her daughter, Kim Mroczko, her sister, Jackie Anderson, five grandchildren Brandy, Britney, Michael, Justin, and Anna, and nine great grandchildren Allie, Peyton, Teagan, Zoey, Maddie, Noah, Carter, Aiden, and Liam.
Sandra graduated from Glynn Academy in 1960. She then attended business college. Sandra was a caring and compassionate person, and her love for others showed through in all aspects of her life. She worked as a special needs school bus driver for over 17 years and was well loved by all who rode her bus. She loved diving into her Native American heritage and would often attend pow-wows in which she handcrafted dream catchers, jewelry, and shawls for her friends who performed at these events. They called her White Rose.
Sandra enjoyed reading, writing, and painting in her spare time. She encouraged that creativity in her grandchildren as well. She captured the beauty of ordinary things in her paintings, including one where the viewer is looking at Christ Church through a cross-shaped hole in the fence. She also wrote and illustrated a children's book that was adored by her grandchildren.
The family thanks those in the community who loved and cared for Sandra and those who have sent kind words, prayers, and support while she lived out her last moments. We know she is no longer in pain, and is rejoicing with her heavenly family.
