Scott Patrick Igielski - February 28, 1994 - June 11, 2026
Scott Patrick Igielski, lovingly known as "Scottie," passed away tragically at the age of 32 while on a trip out West.
Scottie was the beloved son of Kevin and Diane Igielski. He had recently relocated with his parents from Illinois to Waverly, Georgia, where they were beginning a new chapter together.
In addition to his parents, Scottie is survived by his brother, Tyler Igielski-Welch; his sister-in-law, Katie; and his cherished niece, Amelia. He is also survived by his grandfather, Ronald Igielski, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Scottie grew up in the Palatine, Illinois, area and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Following graduation, he built a successful career in Texas selling information technology solutions before eventually returning to Illinois.
From an early age, Scottie embraced an active lifestyle. He participated in club basketball and volleyball and played on both his high school boys' volleyball team and the University of Texas Club Volleyball team. He also enjoyed skateboarding, bowling, water skiing, hiking, cycling, golf and shooting hoops. A devoted sports fan, Scottie proudly supported the Texas Longhorns, Duke Basketball, and remained a loyal Detroit Lions fan throughout his life.
Scottie was exceptionally bright and possessed a deep interest in bioscience. He had a remarkable ability to offer thoughtful insights and astute observations about the world around him. His intellectual curiosity was matched by his love of the outdoors, where he enjoyed exploring new places and learning about the unique characteristics of the natural environment. He was also passionate about health and fitness and believed strongly in living a healthy lifestyle. Wherever he found himself, Scottie sought out local farmers markets, where he became acquainted with organic farmers and grass-fed livestock producers, appreciating the purity and quality of their products as well as the genuine relationships he built with them.
Above all, Scottie was deeply loved by his family. They will forever cherish his kind heart, sharp intellect, inquisitive spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. His passing leaves an immeasurable void, and they grieve not only the loss of the man he was, but also the many dreams and possibilities that remain unfulfilled. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
