Sharon E. Harrington, 72 of Jekyll Island formerly of Rome, NY died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles after a long illness. She was born April 29, 1944, in Utica, NY, the daughter of Warren and Kathleen Wurz Bord. Sharon managed Meals on Wheels in Rome, NY for many years also cooking for the Nuns at RCH Convent. She enjoyed spending Saturday mornings at Turning Stone playing her nickel slots. After retirement, she and her husband moved to her favorite place, Jekyll Island, GA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom (Rose) Bord of WA. Survivors include her husband, Robert; sons, Mark (Debbie) Goodison of IN and Scott Harrington of CA; daughters, Tammy Goodison and Renee Leonard both of SC; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Dick (Carolyn) Bord of NY; sisters, Kathy (Doug) Farmer of NY and MaryAnne (Bill) Turrlington of WA. No services have been scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles 1692 Glynco Pkwy Brunswick, GA 31525. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
