After a lengthy battle with illness, it is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Sharon Marie Lumpkin, 73, on August 24, 2012. "Sherry" as she was known to everyone is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Jack Lumpkin and their three children; their son Jay and their daughters Sandy and Susie. She resided for the past 24 years in a great place, Saint Simons Island, Georgia. With God's everlasting love, she is now in a better one. Words could never express the love your family and friends have for you, Sherry. We will show this by continuing to honor the wonderful example that was your life as…a person…wife…mother…grandmother…great grandmother and friend. You will be missed and always….remembered. Funeral Services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Simons United Methodist Church in the chapel. A private Burial will be at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made to Alzheimer's of Glynn / Brunswick.
