Teresa Jeanette Lindsey, 81, former longtime resident of Brunswick, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 17, 2017. Jeanette was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL where she met the love of her life, Troy. They were married for 55 years. In 1960, they moved to Brunswick where they found Calvary Baptist Church and decided to start a family. Unable to have children, Jeanette found it in her heart to adopt two children giving them a wonderful home and upbringing while raising them to love the Lord and Calvary Baptist Church. When she retired from the Glynn County Board of Education, Jeanette and Troy decided to volunteer at the Brunswick Hospital, The National Seaman's House, while Jeanette continued to act as the secretary for the Southeastern Baptist Association. She loved all these things, but she truly loved the different people she met at the Seaman's House and enjoyed being able to witness to them. After a nearly 17-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease, she is now at peace and happy again with her love Troy, her mother, father and brother. I can now hear them laughing once again. She is preceded in death by husband and the love of her life, Troy Clifton Lindsey, Jr.; her parents, Gus and Vivian Waites; and brother, Ray Waites. Survivors include her daughter, Jacquelyn Lindsey Long (Rick) of New Smyrna Beach; a sister, Sandra Daniels (Ray) of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Sean Costello, Blake Long, Thomas Lindsey, and Estella Lindsey; and a son, Thomas Clifton Lindsey of Brunswick. A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev Larry Boyette officiating.
