Theodore "Ted" Edgar Moore, 94, entered into his heavenly home on March 22, 2022, with his son and two daughters by his side. He met the love of his life, Doris Genevie Newton, during his service in the US Navy while stationed in Florida. They were married in 1948.
Mr. Moore joined the US Navy in 1942, spending over 30 years in the service. During his time in the Navy, he spent time on the USS Coral Sea, USS John F. Kennedy, and USS Franklin D. Roosevelt as part of their very first crew. Ted was also an active member of the 64th Masonic lodge in Key West, Florida.
Ted retired from his career in the Navy in 1973 when he and Doris moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, and began his second career with Mutual of Omaha Insurance. After retiring a second time, Ted and Doris moved back to Brunswick to spend time with their three children.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 68 years, Doris, and a sister, Kathleen Rice. He is survived by his son, Ted Moore Jr.; his daughters, Trish Hardman and Kathy Rhodes; his grandsons, Michael Strickland, Trey Moore, Thomas Moore Hardman; granddaughter, Jamie Strickland Timmons (James Donald Timmons), two great-granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Timmons and Amy Claire Timmons; and two great-grandsons, Austin Blake Moore and Cory Alexander Moore.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to have assisted the Moore family in their time of need.
