Thomas Cavanaugh, 63, of Brunswick died Tuesday at his residence. He had been a long-time resident of Glynn County having come from New Jersey. He was a veteran, having retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service. He was an employee of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and participated in various running marathons and was well-known for being a top-finisher at road races in this area. He is survived by his wife, Patti; and two sisters, Ellen Cavanaugh of Brunswick and Jane Gardner of New Jersey; five step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Smile of a Child at TBN, P.O. Box A, Santa Anna, California. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home and Golden Isles Cremation Society are in charge of arrangements.
