Obituary

Victoria Shoemaker "Vicky" Hitchcock, 71, passed away July 28, 2021, at the family home after a long illness. Born in Davenport, Iowa, the second of six children of Thomas and Katherine Shoemaker, Vicky lived in Brunswick most of her life. She was a 1967 graduate of Glynn Academy. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jesup where she was known as a member of the "front row gang." She was a homemaker whose passions were her love of the Lord and His word and all animals, especially dogs and horses. Her family is at peace knowing that Vicky was ready for her journey home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, Chad Andrew Edgell, her parents, and her niece, Kimberly Whitley. She is survived by her son, Joe Edgell; five sisters, Libby Lightfoot, Carol Lipthratt, Chris Middleton, and Tomi Johnson; one brother, Jerry Shoemaker; and two nephews, David Knight and Christian Middleton. Memorial Services will begin at 11 am, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Remembrances may be made to Heath Hospice of Brunswick, 208 Scranton Connector, #123, Brunswick, GA 31525. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
