Obituary

Wallace H. Dorsey, 73, of Brunswick passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006 at his residence. He had been a resident of Brunswick since 1974 having come to the area from Alexandria, Louisiana. He was a retired, 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force and was also retired from the U.S. Park Service at Cumberland Island after 15 years of service as the Chief of Maintenance. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veteran's, Chapter 66 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Horton Dorsey of Brunswick; two sons, Charles H. Dorsey of Plainfield, IN and Phillip L. Dorsey of Stockbridge, GA; two daughters, Mary Dorsey White (Johnny) and Cynthia Dorsey Cargile (Bobby), both of Brunswick; three sisters, Willagene Broyles of Pensacola, FL; Jeri Hand of Bonham, TX; and Lataine Barlow of Newnan, GA; 6 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren: John Lavarias, Charles Dorsey, Jr., Matthew Dorsey and Michael Story, Celeste White, Adriene Lavarias and Charity Story; and sons-in-law, Johnny White and Bobby Cargile. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
