Captain Walter "Richard" Wasdin, 60, of Brunswick, passed away suddenly on October 2, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Wasdin, Sr., maternal grandparents, George L. Bennett, Sr. and Mildred C. Boyd Bennett, paternal grandparents, John R. Wasdin, Sr. and Lucille Foster Wasdin.

Richard is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Elizabeth Bennett Wasdin; four children, Sheree Wasdin Kelly, Walter Richard Wasdin Jr. (Alicia), Samantha Wasdin, and Chelsea Wasdin Williams (Jonathan). Twelve grandchildren; two brothers, Robert M. Wasdin Jr. (Sandy), David W. Wasdin (Jennifer); three nieces; one nephew; one great-niece, and one great-nephew.

Richard was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. If there was a fish to be caught or a deer to be harvested, he was there to bring it home. He was a commercial fisherman for 40 plus years. He loved spending time with friends and family and was always the practical joker.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m.
