Our baby Matthew has gone to walk with the Lord. He is survived by his grieving mother, father and brother, as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. His poor little soul faced all his challenges with the heart of a lion. He endured so much more than any of us could have handled and he always maintained a bright smile. No matter his multiple surgeries and illnesses, he always overcame them and warmed us with his giggles and smiles. He came into this world in 1999 during hurricane Floyd, fighting like a lion and he departed our world fighting as well. But our little lion cub was too tired, and he can now see and walk and run and play in His eternal light. Grant him eternal rest, oh Lord and please give us all the wisdom to follow Matthew's example of patience and unconditional love of others. Though he never spoke a word, his little heart and spirit spoke volumes to his family, teachers and caregivers. He is truly our little saint who never knew sin. A visitation for Matthew will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6 PM- 7PM at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 AM in the chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Crandall officiating.
