William M. Strickland, 94, died at his daughter's home on Blythe Island on December 15, 2012. A native of Waycross, Mr. Strickland was a longtime resident of Fitzgerald prior to moving to Brunswick about 12 years ago. He was a retired construction superintendent with Mann and Masse Construction Company in Fitzgerald. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 am, Thursday, December, 20, 2012 at College Place United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rob Grotheer officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Interment will be at 3:00 pm at Kettle Creek Methodist Cemetery in Waycross. Pallbearers will be Steve Strickland, Larry Sylvester, Chip Bedingfield, Miles Bedingfield, Brian Bedingfield, Kevin Wells and Trey Bedingfield. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Co-ed Sunday School Class of College Place United Methodist Church. Mr. Strickland was predeceased by his wife Ida M. Strickland. He is survived by two daughters, Deanna (David) Sylvester of Brunswick, GA., and Cheryl (Bill) Bedingfield of Clermont, FL.; two granddaughters, four grandsons, fifteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren.
