“Captain Bill”

August 22, 1953 – August 27, 2026

William Thomas Lockhart, Sr., affectionately known as “Captain Bill,” passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 73.

Captain Bill was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for the love he gave his family and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Erie Lockhart; his mother, Evelyn Lee Lockhart; his father, Edward Lockhart; and his brother, Tony Lockhart.

He leaves behind his children, William “Tommy” Lockhart, Jr. and Kimberly Diane Lockhart, who will forever cherish the memories and love they shared with their daddy.

Captain Bill was a proud grandfather to William Easlic, III (Megan), Tommy Lockhart, III, Nick Ternest, Abi Crosby, Alyssa Thomas, and Sky Thomas.

His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Preston, Jamison, Brayden, Avery, Briella, Gracelynn, Haylee, Falynn, A’Sani, and Grant.

He also leaves behind his loving and faithful dog, Buddy, who was a cherished companion.

Captain Bill will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will live on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched.

The family extends a heartfelt and special thank-you to Hospice of the Golden Isles for the compassionate care and comfort they provided to our daddy during his final days. Your kindness and support will always be remembered.
