William "Bill" C. Wood, 69, of Brunswick died Monday at his residence. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and was a Master at Arms Chief. He was also retired from the Glynn Co. Police Department after 15 years as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Republican Party and listened to Conservative Talk Radio. He is survived by his wife, Janice Wood of Brunswick; a son, Doug (Austine) Wood of Maysville, Ga.; a daughter, Alice L. Smith of West Port, Ind.; a sister, Kay Rocker of Haines City, Fla; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heartland Hospice. Pallbearers will be Kevin Fisher, Ronald Edwards, Dale Edwards, Donald Edwards, Roger Edwards, and Thomas Downey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Fisher, David A. Smith, Gordon Spurlock, Jimmy Williamson and Lenore Brewster. Brunswick Memorial Park funeral home is serving the family of William C. Wood.
